Great progress is being made along the Ross to Ruatapu section of the West Coast Wilderness Trail. We think it might be prudent to mark this indelibly on your Summer horizon. This final section of the trail from Hokitika to Ross is 36km and follows a mix of new trail and historic tramline to the West Coast Treetops Walk. Here you can enjoy a coffee and stretch your legs at the same height as some of New Zealand’s tallest trees. If you’re keen to ride the entire trail it’s best to book in 4 days to enjoy this 139km adventure through the Southern Alps. Hokitika and Greymouth both offer a full range of accommodation, services and tours.

This section of the Trail officially opens at the end of October 2015! Keep an eye out on the West Coast Wilderness Trail website below for all the details.
