The NZ Transport Agency is excited to announce NZ’s Favourite Places to Ride is returning on 10 April 2017 and they need your help to make this year bigger and better than ever!
New Zealand has some of the best places to bike in the world and NZ’s Favourite Places to Ride is an opportunity to celebrate our world-class rides and maybe even discover something new.
You can help spread the word by:
Sharing the competition link on social media, tagging @nzta_news and using the hashtag #nzfavplaces
Email the ready-made poster to your networks and place posters at clubs, pools, libraries, cafes, bike shops and trail venues in your area.
Last year’s competition had an overwhelming response, with more than 12,000 nominations and votes. This year there are a few changes to make the competition even better.
This year’s categories are:
Nga Haerenga – The New Zealand Cycle Trail
Off-road or adventure ride
Community facility (e.g. velodromes, Bikes in Schools, BMX tracks and pump tracks)
Nominations will be open from 10 April to 31 May and the winners will be announced in June. By taking part Kiwis will go in the draw to win their share of $1000 in bike vouchers.
Favourite Places to Ride is part of the Government’s commitment to making cycling a safer and more attractive transport option for New Zealanders. By asking Kiwis to share their favourite routes it helps to encourage more New Zealanders to ride their bikes for every day trips.
