Official Partner Programme
The New Zealand Cycle Trail Official Partner programme has been created to build the profile of The New Zealand Cycle Trail (NZCT), increase turnover for New Zealand businesses that relate to the trail and provide increased downstream economic benefits to regional communities. The Official Partner programme also aims to increase New Zealand’s credibility as a cycling destination.
The New Zealand Cycle Trail Official Partner programme was launched in the Hawke’s Bay in October 2011. The first business owner to sign up for the programme was Jenny Ryan from Napier’s Takaro Trails (pictured).
To become an Official Partner, a business must meet and maintain certain cycle-friendly standards including selling or promoting products or services that relate to the 18 Great Rides, providing a warm welcome and a high level of customer service for cyclists; and providing useful first-hand knowledge about the Great Rides including maps and brochures.
Official Partner benefits include:
- Annual use of the NZCT Official Partner logo at the business’s establishment, on its website and in publications e.g. brochures (non-transferable).
- Official partners will be invited to promote themselves as part of an official NZCT product directory that will be updated for New Zealand’s biggest tourism trade show event, TRENZ (www.trenz.org.nz) each year.
- A listing on the official website for the business’s regional trail partner.
- Assistance to link to The New Zealand Cycle Trail on Tourism New Zealand’s consumer website at www.newzealand.com .
- Increased business referrals. The New Zealand Cycle Trail will encourage cyclists to use businesses that display the Official Partner logo i.e. “support the businesses that support the trail”.
- Updates on cycle trail activities and invitations to Official Partner meetings.
- Additional marketing and sponsorship opportunities are also be available for those businesses seeking a higher level of involvement with their local Great Ride.
